Whitey McWhite-rson

I think we have already discussed that Mama is White-y McWhite-rson..  So I am always on the lookout for a new way to bronze my skin that doesn’t make me look like I just took a bath in carrot juice.

Enter Luminess Tan.  I saw a segment on tv that ensures that you get a glowing airbrushed tan that looks natural and amazing.  I saved up and BAM… there it was.

luminesstan

Okay… It actually works! I really like the product.  After trial & error.  I could see how some people would have a train wreck the 1st go around.  But don’t be discouraged my pale friends…  I will give you the tips that should be included when you buy the system:

  1. NEVER tip the applicator bottle over. There is a tiny hole on top that will leak ASAP whenever tilted to far over. (especially when you attempt anywhere on the backside of your body)
  2. Protect your surroundings. I apply outside. (Yep. Naked. Don’t judge.) It will be everywhere.
  3. A long standup mirror is SUPER helpful
  4. Make sure to apply in LONG sweeps especially on the legs and arms.
  5. Don’t be afraid to spray at the maximum… you need to SEE the color as it goes on.
  6. You need a partner to help you get your back & keep an eye on color shade.
  7. DO NOT COME INTO CONTACT W/ WATER AS LONG AS YOU CAN. The longer, the better. (I was unloading dishes from the washer and ruined one leg. Wah)

It may sound like a lot to think about. But--- Once you get it down, you are golden. (literally. Hehe.)  You will have an instant airbrush tan or touch up whenever you want! I also got the refill system that automatically sends you product monthly. Pretty sweet & so hot.

The GENIUS of Juicing

First off---- STOP BUYING JUICE FROM THE GROCERY STORE. All it contains is added SUGAR and junk. If you do buy it pre-packaged from the store, look for “COLD-PRESSED”. Now that that’s out of the way…hehehe.

So the hubby and I cannot get through a day now without the incredible ridiculousness of a fresh pressed juice. I can’t begin to describe the health benefits or the surge of energy you feel when you actually give your body the nutrients it craves. People have cured major diseases, immune disorders & even cancer through fresh juice.

We have tried a couple of different juicers and for the budget crazed woman I am, I think we have found a happy medium of quality & price. I definitely wouldn’t suggest any other brand than Breville---across the board, these guys are the BEST.

Our FAV is the Breville Juice Fountain Plus.

You can literally juice almost anything.

JUICING TIPS:

Careful not to cut things to small. The larger the item you put in the more juice you will get out of it on these level of machines. Full kale leaves, Cut an apple in ½, etc…

A good size juice serving should be at least 12 ounces.

Add seltzer to a serving of juice to fancy it up. LOVE the bubbly.

I also always add ice & cinnamon to my juices . You can also steam w/an espresso steamer if you want a throat-soothing recipe. (Lemon, Ginger, Apple)

My top ingredients:

Spinach (not baby spinach, I get huge leaves at the farmers market)

Cucumber

Watermelon

Kale

Apple

Ginger

Lemon (make sure you don’t juice rind)

Lime

Peaches

Pears

Carrot

Apple

Brocolli

Romaine

Fresh Parsley

Sunflower Sprouts

Green Grapes

Berries

Celery

Beets (also juice Beet leaves, they are the highest protein plant you can juice)

Fresh Mint

Swiss Chard

Any questions on the benefits or juicing in general?   You MUST watch the documentary, “FAT SICK & NEARLY DEAD”. You can also catch live-streaming on NETFLIX right now.

Just Peachy!

With peaches kicking into prime season right now, I cannot get enough of this easy dessert! It’s healthy… you are getting tons of amazing nutrients from the fruit, the calcium, protein & probiotics from the yogurt and you will feel like you are indulging.

On the Brink

So, I contribute to a ton of different sites... reviews (Yelp Elite, baby!), beauty blog (24savvy.com), and I am always one to share my honest opinion. I guess, I just can't keep my mouth shut. And I am sure my Christopher can confirm that statement.

I am doing it. I am gonna post my adventures via here. I LOVE to cook, discover new things, I am a ridiculous researcher and I am constantly on the search for the newest product or fun gadget. So... basically... it's ON.

More to come...  Look out.
